We have immediate openings for Systems Engineers reporting to the Senior Program Manager. This is an exempt non-supervisory full-time position. The position can be based in either our Valparaiso, FL or Tucson, AZ offices. The successful candidates will provide technical and systems engineering support to the Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Lead, Engineering Manager (EM) and Program Manager (PM). The candidates will be responsible for system engineering processes to support system analysis, modeling, development, fabrication, assembly, testing, qualification, logistics support development, reliability growth, and planning required for the successful demonstration of a fully operational, production-ready system. Specifically, the candidates will be responsible for customer requirements’ analysis, decomposition, and allocation to hardware and software designers to include design trades and requirements change management. Candidates will also be responsible for requirements derivation, requirements traceability, systems trade studies, logistics development, reliability improvement identification, systems integration and test, performance verification, and data analysis to join an agile hardware and software development team designing, building, and integrating active and passive electro-optical and sonar sensors. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Create and maintain related technical documentation and specifications based on the analysis and flow down of customer requirements.
- Prepare, participate and present in technical briefings in accordance with IEEE 15288.2 such as SRR, PDR and CDR to internal and external customers.
- Responsible for requirements derivation, requirements traceability, systems integration and test, performance verification and data analysis to join an agile hardware and software development team designing, building and integrating optical, sonar, and laser systems.
- Play an active role in troubleshooting system level failures amongst a diverse team of engineers and technicians.
- Additional duties, as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor’s or Master’s in System Engineering or related field.
- Experience with requirements development, decomposition, traceability, and requirements impacts through requirements analysis and requirements management practices and techniques in accordance with MIL-STD-961.
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-882 and MIL-STD-483.
- Knowledge of risk, issue, and opportunity management and mitigation techniques and tools such as risk cubes, waterfall diagrams, and mitigation plans in accordance with DoDI 8510.01.
- Familiarity with electro-optics, lidar, and/or sonar systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly both written and verbally.
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Understanding of Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) concepts throughout project lifecycle to include familiarity with Cameo MagicDraw, Sparx Enterprise Architect, or equivalent and knowledge of SysML & UML 2 implementations.
- Experience with system modeling tools and implementations along with OCSMP Certification as Model User or higher and/or INCOSE Certification as ASEP or higher.
- Experience in IBM Rational DOORS.
- Active security clearance.
