Job Description Position Summary The HPO (High Performance Organization) Lead will be responsible for new driving operational excellence in the development of processes, tools, resource development and organizational improvements to deliver best in class product development organizational performance. This is a highly visible position. In performance of this role the individual will develop organization wide performance improvement initiatives and present these to senior management as well as align with other business units on common processes, tools and best practices. In addition, this person will be responsible for successful rollout and implementation of the APBC HPO initiatives and definition of success measures for these initiatives. - Experience and Education
- Minimum 15 years of experience in an engineering environment in firmware, hardware and/or mechanical engineering disciplines.
- 5 years in developing and rolling out engineering process improvements, including engineering tools and engineering operating model adoption.
- 5 years active operating experience using agile methods.
- 5 years engineering management experience.
- Strong command of the English language
- Have experience in leading process improvements to improve organization capabilities and demonstrating measurable results.
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline (EE, ME, CE, CS).
- Desired Experience and Education
- Background in digital engineering organizational transformation a large scale.
- SAFe experience with large programs including both firmware and hardware.
- DevOps experience in delivering SW/FW in a large program CI/CD environment
- Cyber Security Product management and experience with certification maturity levels (62443)
- Experience with Safety certification of products
- Customer issue resolution process improvement background as it relates to product functionality and performance with an emphasis on minimization of issue resolution life cycle.
- Design for manufacturability with an emphasis on digital manufacturing transformation.
- Experience with operating in SAFe/Agile environments and tools including Jira and Jama
- MBA or equivalent.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Lead a diverse team of SMEs from DevOps, Embedded Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Program Managers, Project Managers, Product Security, Quality, Manufacturing (Industrial) Engineering, Business Management, Human Resources and Sourcing.
- Develop APBC HPO initiatives and plans to improve product development performance across the organization including product definition, engineering performance, internal quality, customer quality, time to market, development costs and production performance,
- Successful HPO initiatives will include presentation of initiatives to Sr Management and peers for alignment and approval.
- Definition of measurement models, tooling and targets to measure the effectivity of the HPO initiatives and subsequent rollout to the appropriate groups and programs.
- Provide thought leadership on:
- Digital Engineering adoption through simulation, modeling, analysis and other virtual design engineering and validation techniques.
- Selection of tools and definition of tools usage and processes to maximize ROI and Internal Quality.
- Program adoption and optimization of product development operating models such as SAFe (Agile)
- Lean process improvement across all engineering activities and disciplines
- Strategies for effective management of customer and product security issue resolution.
- Digital Manufacturing optimization through CIM and DFM initiatives
- Champion new ideas and initiatives and motivate the team to embrace new challenges and strive for success.
- Represent APBC in the Rockwell Automation HPO Community of Practice by sharing initiatives and aligning best practices, processes and tools common to the Rockwell Automation engineering community.
