Sr. Hardware Engineer (PCR - Product Cost Reduction) 5 to 8 years of experience in Design-development of Electronic Products. Min. Bachelor's Degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Key Responsibilities (but not limited to) - Review the current products and identify cost & quality improvement opportunities.Analyze the building blocks and circuit implementation in the current design Perform apple to apple comparison and analysis of alternate parts/designTechnical discussion with component suppliers related to parts spec/features, implementation and performance assessment.Perform circuit analysis, cost assessment and design changes.Obsolescence management, cost reduction ideation and execution.Schematic design, layout review. Doing necessary hand-on testing to evaluate Hardware performance of products.Doing necessary Engineering documentation like test plan, test reports, ECO/ECR etc..Work closely with cross-functional team to achieve assigned project/activity targets within boundaries of Time, Cost and Quality. Technical Skills RequirementHands on experience in the areas of circuit analysis, simulation ( MathCAD analysis, Saber or Xpedition AMS circuit simulations can be an added advantage)Good understanding on the basic electronics parts like FET, BJT, inductor, Capacitor, transformer etcGood understanding on the design guidelines and best practices.Proven track record in the electronic product design environment.Good understanding on the operation of switch-mode power supplies involving boost and buck operationHand on experience in calculating the power dissipation and junction temperature assessment of power devices.Familiarity with high-side and low side driversHands on experience on Analog, Digital, Mixed Signal circuit design, development, testing is MUST. More focus is on Digital Design skills. Experience is EMI-EMC compliance, issues and resolution.Sound experience in Microcontroller / Microprocessor based circuit design.Good understanding and concepts on SI, timing analysis.Schematic entry, layout review.Obsolescence management and Value Engineering. Microprocessor/Microcontroller system based preferably with ARM processor experience.Communication protocols like I2C, SPI, CAN.Proven capability to carry out product testing for Environmental and Certification Test Standards.Experienced in using common lab equipment like DMMs, Oscilloscopes, Analyzers etc.. Soft skills Requirement Should have go-getter attitude. Willing to take accountability and ownership of assigned task.Ability to work with minimal supervision.Good presentation and communication skills - verbal, written.Experience in working with cross functional and multi-site project teams.
