The successful candidate for this position will be a member of a team responsible for designing, developing, testing and the evaluation of VCSEL devices. Responsibilities may include:
Design, process definition, testing, and analysis of novel VCSEL devices
Execution of Design of Experiments (DOE) and data analysis
Leadership and management of project-oriented development activities
Translation of customer requirements into VCSEL device specifications
Working with outside foundries to adapt designs to foundry capabilities
VCSEL device characterization including optical and electrical testing
Develop process and test modifications for improvement of performance or yield
Provide technical support to the sales team and to customers
Required Qualifications:
Vixar is seeking a VCSEL scientist to help drive growth of the company. We are looking for candidates with the following attributes:
An M.S. or Ph.D. in physics, materials science, electrical, or optical engineering
Strong familiarity with III-V semiconductors and optoelectronic devices
Hands on experience in optoelectronic device wafer processing and testing
Familiarity with software and CAD tools for supporting semiconductor device design
Results-oriented self-starter who enjoys working independently and collaboratively in a team setting
A strong orientation toward internal and external customer satisfaction
Disciplined approach to problem solving
Very strong verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with epitaxial growth processes and analytical tools such as SIMS, STEM, SEM, FIB, etc.
Knowledge of design for high device reliability
