What you’ll be doing...
You will be a part of the Global Network & Technology Systems Engineering organization focusing on strategic technology evolution including end-to-end detailed engineering, simulation, and analysis of wireless and wireline systems. These systems are typically defined by industry forums and Network Planning for development, deployment and troubleshooting. You will be on the frontlines of next-generation 5G wireless simulation and analysis, impacting how our customers live, work, and play.
Designing network equipment layout and prepare installation of computer, network, telecom, and video equipment in a designated data center or network laboratory.
Installing equipment cabinets and racks, provide AC and DC power connections, Ethernet, fiber & video cabling and racking and stacking of equipment.
Testing the configuration of software and hardware installed as needed on network architecture.
Performing troubleshooting of equipment and system failures and identify and troubleshoot outages and bottlenecks to ensure long term efficiency of the lab network.
Inspecting equipment and infrastructure and fix minor or major problems or issues.
Evaluating network and equipment performance and find ways to scale or improve performance.
Troubleshooting issues and solves problems in a proactive manner.
Creating and maintaining System Engineering and Integration Best Practices and Processes.
Updating and maintaining High-level Framework Architecture.
Helping to define the System Engineering operating procedures and their implementation for reserving and using compute resources.
Coaching and mentoring more junior level team members.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience in Cisco software configuration and management (CCNA/CCNP).
Experience in F5 Firewall and Load balancer configuration and management.
Willingness to travel.
Even better if you have:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
Three or more years' of experience in managing logical and physical networking, Layer 1/2/3.
Two or more years' experience in Cisco software configuration and management (CCNA/CCNP).
Two or more years' experience in F5 Firewall and Load balancer configuration and management
Two or more years' experience in Linux/CentOS/Ubuntu - Administration, configuration, and familiarity.
Strong project management skills to execute on roadmap.
The ability to work on a team and independently on multiple high priority projects.
Experience utilizing system diagnostics to troubleshoot issues and / or predict performance.
Excellent communication and advanced presentation skills.
Ability to facilitate collaborative resolution of differences with a “win-win” approach.
Ability to adapt daily to changing technical and business environments.
Experience configuring VPN software on virtual appliances, preferably Pulse Secure.
Experience working with VMWare ESXi/vSphere, configuring and managing virtual networks.
Knowledge of major telecommunication ecosystem partners.
Familiarity with LTE, 5GNR, IMS, VoLTE, WiFi, wireless protocols, and wireless standards.
Familiarity with cloud computing, multi-threading and efficient server loading for complex applications.
Familiarity with Linux, Programming / Scripting languages (Python, Java, Perl, C#, C++).
Proven organizational and interpersonal skills, plus proven relationship building abilities.
Ability to drive innovation and technology adoption across organizations.
Real-time Operating System experience.
HPE DL and BL Series hardware experience.
Brocade SAN Storage.
Red Hat Ansible, vmWare, OpenStack and Openshift experience.
