Detailed Job Description This is for anticipated openings throughout the academic year Responsible for design, oversight, and implementation of year-round strength and conditioning programs for Division III varsity teams in collaboration with head coaches and athletic trainers.
Consult with coaching staff regarding team/individual fitness and conditioning needs
Monitor and direct safe and effective training programs for team and individual workouts
Implement appropriate testing methods to assess fitness levels of athletes pre and post season
Work with Athletic Training staff to develop and implement injury prevention programs and accommodate injured student athletes to facilitate return to play
Teach proper technique for all lifts and movement training including but not limited to plyometric exercises, Olympic lifts, speed development exercises and flexibility
Enhance and develop ability of student athletes to compete in their specific sport on a national level
Plan and coordinate strength and conditioning program needs including inventory and daily maintenance of all equipment
Establish weight room and program policies and procedures for student athletes
Oversee the scheduling, supervision, and upkeep of the Tiger Power Den/varsity weight room facility
Selection, supervision, and management of student staff in Tiger Power Den
Support education of student athletes regarding proper nutrition, sleep, recovery and other healthy living practices
Research and remain current on developments in the strength and conditioning field
Other duties: Consult with coaches, athletic trainers and student-athletes Design, implement and monitor effective training programs for teams and individual student-athletes Teach the proper technique for all lifts and movement training Work with Athletic Training staff to develop and implement injury prevention programs Oversee the scheduling, supervision and upkeep of the Varsity Fitness Center (Tiger Power Den) Establish and monitor Varsity Fitness Center policies and rules Design and implement testing methods in order to assess fitness levels of student-athletes (pre and post season) OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
Required Minimum Qualifications
Three to five years working in a related field preferably at the collegiate level
Ability to teach and coach male and female student-athletes (team and individual)
Ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes
Prior coaching and playing experience
CSCS Certification or pending CSCS certification (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist)
