SOFTWARE ENGINEER, DIGITAL CURRENCY INITIATIVES , Media Lab-Digital Currency Initiative , to help build the future of money. Will work with research scientists and developers to design and implement open source software for a retail central bank digital currency, collaborating closely with a team at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Responsibilities include collaborating with senior research scientist/engineers on designing components of the digital cash transaction system, including defining select system requirements; implementing and debugging components of the digital cash transaction system; developing benchmarking code, assessing system technical performance, and identifying optimization opportunities; documenting design decisions; attending weekly planning and technical meetings, which may include presenting on code, performance benchmarks, or design choices; and contributing to creating an inclusive environment.
