Department/College Description Margaret's House provides quality care and early childhood education for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers during the academic year and throughout the summer. We are open Monday through Friday from 7:30am-6:00pm and our calendar coordinates with the RIT academic schedule. The staff at Margaret's House are employees of RIT.
Detailed Job Description The Staff Assistant will provide support to management, staff, visitors and center families of Margaret's House, the on-campus child care center at RIT, to ensure efficiency of daily operations through a variety of tasks related to organization and communication such as; answering phones and greeting visitors; organizing and scheduling tours, training, and meetings; sharing financial management responsibilities such as, but not limited to, monitoring procurement card logs, and purchasing office and center supplies; maintaining files and rosters; coordinating family engagement activities; tracking medical statements and immunization records; ensuring a professional, organized and welcoming environment for families and visitors; monitoring enrollment of summer program and assisting coordinator with marketing and development; covering and assisting in classrooms as needed, and other duties as assigned. Fluency, experience or willingness to learn ASL preferred.
Required Minimum Qualifications A minimum of 2 years experience in an office setting OR a minimum of 2 years in a child care setting with demonstrated experience handling classroom, administrative or customer service tasks. The Staff Assistant must be detail oriented and organized, have the ability to multi-task, and possess strong interpersonal skills.
