Position SummaryThe Harel Lab at Michigan State University is seeking highly motivated postdoctoral researchers in the broad area of ultrafast spectroscopy and optical microscopy. The researcher will develop novel, cutting-edge methodologies to tackle contemporary problems in physical chemistry and biophysics. A deep theoretical understanding of quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics, and nonlinear optics is required. Strong oral and written communication is also required. Skills such as technical computing (Matlab, Python), hardware design (CAD, LabView), machining, basic electronics, machine learning, data science, cavity QED, interferometry, nano- and micro-fabrication, fiber optics, laser aligning and optical design are highly desired. Required DegreeDoctorate -Chemistry or Physics Minimum RequirementsA PhD in either chemistry, physics, materials science, or electrical engineering is required.
