SSVEC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our substation engineering team. The successful candidate will provide the initiative, competency, professionalism, and communication skills to assure efficient and reliable operation of SSVECs distribution and sub-transmission system. Seeking candidates with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a preference for a senior engineer with specific experience in the field of coordination and protection using SEL relays, experience in substation and/or protection (relay) design. Experience with substation design, construction, commissioning, and operation in a distribution cooperative are also a plus. Registration as a Professional Engineer in Arizona highly desirable. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Engineer I: Entry level, minimum qualifications; Bachelor of Science (BS)degree in Engineering. Engineer II: Bachelor of Science (BS)degree in Engineering with a minimum of two years of utility experience. Familiar with engineering theory and practice. Engineer III: Bachelor of Science (BS)degree in Engineering with a minimum of five years of utility experience with at least two years in main job function. Must have broad exposure to power engineering, fully familiar with engineering theory and practice. Engineer IV: Bachelor of Science (BS)degree in Engineering with eight years of utility experience with at least two years in main job function. Engineer IV requires an engineer with a broad exposure to power engineering, fully familiar with engineering theory and practice. This position is responsible for a broad range of high-level engineering work as in the areas of relay operation, coordination issues, substation equipment, distribution automation, SCADA equipment, power quality analysis, power monitoring equipment, metering distributed generation interconnection, material specifications and general substation design and operation. As well as serving as a project planner, coordinator, and expeditor for projects in this area. |
