The Research Solutions SBU is focused on innovating the foundation of FactSet's product offering. By marrying robust content, intuitive applications, and innovative technology, we defend and grow our footprint across several key user classes including investment banking, sell-side research, buy-side research, private equity, portfolio managers, traders, capital markets, investor relations, and media. This SBU contains Core Applications (Universal Screening, Company & Security Analytics, Industry and Markets, Filings, Ownership, Research, News, Charting) and our industry leading RMS suite. The SBU closely partners with the Content and Platform Horizontals on strategy for FactSet Web, Mobile, and much of FactSet's content offering.
UI Standards is a shared infrastructure team focused on providing developers the tools to create modern and consistent user interfaces for their applications. FactSet is looking for a talented software engineer to join Research Solutions and participate as a contributing member to the UI standards team. This team member will play a critical role in accelerating time-to-market on key SBU strategies by partnering with our application development teams to understand and assist with their needs.
Projects worked on by the UI Standards team:
Influence and contribute to FactSet's current and next generation of UI standards
Implement interfaces in Angular.js and Vue.js
Contribute to components, grids (tables), and charting technology
In this role you will:
Lead the engineering design, development, and release of key UI components
Influence FactSet's UI standards and design
Keep up to date and act as a leader on Typescript, Vue.js, Angular.js, and their related ecosystems
Strategically explore open-source opportunities to improve our workflows
Foster awareness of the UI Standards team processes, tools, and roadmap within Research
Collaborate with Research stakeholders to understand and prioritize their needs
Over time, you will find opportunities to impact the larger FactSet engineering community. For example, by working with the Web Guidance Group or other cross-team working groups, you will have visibility into how FactSet's teams make decisions and the ability to present your perspective.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field or equivalent experience
3 year of experience working professionally as a Software Developer building web applications
A passion to provide value by enabling other developers
Highly Desired Skills:
Experience with TypeScript, Vue.js, Angular.js, AWS and creating UI components
Experience with Scrum, Kanban or Agile software development in general
Experience working with or contributing to open source
