Within the Department of Business Initiatives and Alliances (BIA), the Project Manager I for Dana-Farber Pathways will support the development and execution of the Dana-Farber Pathways solution. Reporting to the Director of Pathways Operations, the Project Manager I will be responsible for managing the clinical content lifecycle of Dana-Farber Pathways including content analysis, development, maintenance and tracking. The Project Manager I will work with a variety of teams across the department to implement new content in the product and ensure all clinical content is appropriately tracked in an inventory database. The Project Manager I will also identify and mitigate project risks to ensure successful completion of the Dana-Farber Pathways initiative. Clinical Content Development - Manages the process for content development, standardization, coordination, maintenance and archiving for the Dana-Farber Pathways solution
- Manages and coordinates gathering and synthesis of current clinical content and development of new clinical content for the Dana-Farber Pathways solution
- Manages content development and helps to inform build activities between and among Pathways Business Analytics, Pathways Data Engineering, and third-party vendor working groups
- Leads assigned work groups and facilitates interactions and communication to arrive at solutions for content development and management
- Provides coordination and direction to complete assigned clinical content tasks, product required deliverables, track and resolve issues, and meet relevant Pathways project milestones according to established timeline
- Takes responsibility for the success of the clinical content activities for the Dana-Farber Pathways solution
- Develops, owns and manages project plans for multiple content teams simultaneously
- Collaborates with clinicians and operational leaders across Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and external partner organizations
- Collaborates with Pathways Business Analytics and Pathways Data Engineering to develop an inventory database management system for documenting and tracking clinical content
- Maintains knowledge of clinical workflows, the Dana-Farber Pathways solution, and other healthcare technology capabilities; current trends and issues in healthcare, regulatory and accreditation requirements, meaningful use requirements, organizational policies and procedures; legal implications of HIT systems and advances in technology
Project Management - Manages project issues and identifies risks and mitigation strategies using strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Reports project status to Vice President of Business Initiatives and Alliances, Senior Director of Dana-Farber Solutions, Director of Pathways Operations, and Medical Director of Dana-Farber Pathways.
- Serves as a liaison between clinicians, disease center leadership, various clinical committees/workgroups, third-party vendors, and the Dana-Farber Pathways Team
- Assumes leadership role in identifying and coordinating efforts, including communication, change readiness assessment, gap analysis, education, workflows and policy and procedural changes
Business Development - Works closely with third-party vendor Business Development Team to support sales discussions
Account Management - Works closely with third-party vendor Account Management and Implementation Teams to support training and engagement activities
Product Management - Assists in the planning, design, development, implementation, support and ongoing optimization of the Dana-Farber Pathways solution
- Surfaces suggestions to third-party vendor software engineers regarding how to improve the Dana-Farber Pathways solution
- Assists with analysis and documentation of current state/future state and collaborates with third-party vendor teams to ensure clinical system build is in alignment with standardization and future state workflow
Training and Education - Participates/leads initiatives to educate, train, and provide ongoing educational support to clinicians regarding the use of Dana-Farber Pathways and related technologies
- Participates in facility and corporate committees and/or projects as clinical informatics expert
- Participates in informatics-focused conferences, user forums, and professional events
Other Responsibilities - Other responsibilities as determined by the Vice President of Business Initiatives and Alliances, Senior Director of Product Development, Director of Pathways Operations, and Medical Director of Dana-Farber Pathways
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in business, public health, or health-related field strongly preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of project and/or product management experience in a healthcare setting
- Previous experience in oncology strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent large projects and project teams
- Prior experience with facilitating meetings necessary
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: - Meeting management, facilitation, and presentation skills required
- Experience using recognized development methodologies (ex: Agile) to deliver digital health products
- Experience using electronic health records (ex: Epic, Cerner, OncoEMR) strongly preferred
- Experience with business process modeling (BPMN, CMMN, DMN) preferred
- Experience with clinical care delivery across health disciplines and the care continuum
- Experience with clinical content development and maintenance
- Experience with clinical data management or data entry
