Assistant Professor in Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at UC Merced seeks applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning in the 2021/2022 academic year. Priority will be given to candidates in the areas of: Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Machine Learning. However, exceptional candidates in all areas will be considered. The search is supported by an Advancing Faculty Diversity Recruitment Grant and the Department seeks candidates who demonstrate both a record of outstanding scholarship and contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are particularly interested in attracting candidates who can contribute to the growing diversity and excellence of the community through their teaching, scholarship, and service. Qualifications: A doctoral degree (preferred by July 1, 2021, must be conferred by Dec. 31, 2021) in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or a related field is required at time of employment. Applicants should have a distinguished academic record, an exceptional potential to conduct world-class research in a collaborative environment, and a strong commitment to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and UC academic salary scales.
