![]() Post Doctoral Research Assoc 5315BR College of Science COS School of Physics and Astronomy Professional Area: Employment Category: Fulltime Staff Job Function: Wage Band: Department/College Description Detailed Job Description The postdoctoral researcher will be working on NSF Award EF - #1935277 Collaborative Research: Bottom-up Construction of a Synthetic Neuron and Programmable Neuronal Network. The postdoctoral researcher will conduct analytical and computational research on (1) reconstitution of action potential and synapses in a single synthetic neuron, and 2) engineering a synthetic multi-neuron system with defined network organization. He/she/they will create hypothesis driven mechanistic mathematical models, make predictions that can be experimentally tested, analyze experimental data, compare theory results with experimental data, and communicate results to scientists through peer reviewed publications and oral and poster presentations. Required Minimum Qualifications Advanced degree - PhD in Physics, or related field. Ability to perform the following:
