Our Corporate Bank Technology team is a global team of 3000 coders (and growing!) across 30 countries. The primary businesses that Corporate Bank support are Cash Management, Securities Services, Trade Finance and Trust & Agency Services. CB Technology support these businesses through CIO aligned teams and also by 'horizontals' such as Client Connectivity, Surveillance and Regulatory, Infrastructure, Architecture, Production, and Risk & Control.

About the Team
Payments and Cheques: Payment and Cheque technology is accountable for all aspects of technology supporting the Payments and Receivables business which is part of the Cash Management business. Particular focus is placed on our strategic platforms and architecture to improve stability and efficiency in this area. We support the processing of tens of millions of payments with over a trillion of Euros in value on a daily basis.
What You'll Do
As part of our global team you will work on various components as a Sr. Development Engineer. Your role includes specification, development, as well as the testing and rollout of new features. You are expected to contribute to the vision, understand our product roadmap, integrate business value with experience and contribute to building an engineering culture within the team. We expect the successful candidate to deliver high quality software and to be passionate about software engineering. You must have a proficient understanding of software development concepts. A good understanding of Cloud and Big Data concepts is a plus. You will also be responsible to develop easy to support software and liaise with our SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) team to factor in their requirements.
The team is currently working on a number of key initiatives to support industry transition to instant payments and standardized formats. These are green-field projects that deliver the best Corporate Banking payment products in the world. Our team is diverse, international and driven by shared focus on code quality and valued delivery.
Build out services for the next generation payment processing platform
Enable peer-to-peer connectivity via APIs and robotic automation to provide improved client experience and functional re-engineering; and
Using payments processing and booking data to provide intraday transparency and insights to optimise financial benefit for both the clients and the bank.
Understand the business demand in the context of the problem statement & business requirements requested.
Work with business customers on functional and non-functional requirements
Contribute to the definition of the future state of the system architecture
Define a modern, scalable, resilient and sustainable technology solution for payment processing across dozens of markets globally
Perform technical analysis and design
Document design decisions, components, APIs and keep the knowledge base
Participating and contributing to design and code reviews
Develop the code and provide hands on engineering expertise to the development teams
Build test automation of new and existing functionality and partner with the QA team to ensure that quality metrics of the product meet the non-functional requirements
When product and architecture experience gained, mentor and direct more junior developer
Skills You'll Need
Strong hands-on experience and knowledge of programming technologies and tools (Java, Kotlin, Spring, Swagger/OpenAPI, Maven, etc.)
Experience designing and implementing high performance and availability, large scale, fault tolerant solutions
Big Data stores, persistence, caching (Elastic Search, Clickhouse, Cassandra, Hadoop, Hazelcast, Radis, etc.)
Streaming (Flink, Apache STORM)
Scalable infrastructure models (Cloud, Openshift, Platform as a Service (PaaS), etc.)
Integration and messaging (Kafka, Camel, Fuse, etc.)
Experience designing and implementing microservices
APIs and API frameworks
Hands on experience with Agile methodologies, TDD and BDD
Experience with modern SDLC tools - Git, JIRA, Artifactory, Jenkins/TeamCity, OpenShift
Basic knowledge of SQL
Basic knowledge of Linux
