As a core member of the User Experience Design Team, responsible for representing and conducting user experience design at Rockwell Automation, this position will assist user experience design for our software products supporting industrial automation systems. This role engages in the full development lifecycle--from initial research and conceptualization through evaluation and delivery - applying best-practice user-centered design and usability engineering techniques to develop breakthrough designs for the Rockwell Automation suite of desktop, web and mobile products. This position works with other specialists on the user experience design and software architecture teams, developers and collaborates with various product groups to conceptualize, design, and prototype breakthrough designs. The role requires communication and collaboration with management, marketing, engineering, and quality teams to ensure designs are fulfilled in products. Design and research is conducted in collaboration and with assistance by senior designers and researchers.

This role reports to the Software Engineering Manager and is located in Colombia .
What you will do *Work closely with software project teams applying best-practice user-centered design and usability engineering techniques to new desktop, web and mobile product designs and existing software products. *Work to understand how customers use the product, and then uses that knowledge to drive improvements in the product. Also able to learn and understand basic control system concepts. *Develop and maintain mockups, wireframes, scenarios, prototypes, navigation maps and other design artifacts. Validates designs with more senior designers. *Define innovative user interfaces and interaction styles which result in improved user productivity and deliver business value. Validate designs with more senior designers. *Improve, standardize, and institutionalize the user-centered creativity and design methodology. *Understand and stay current with trends and best practices in the user experience / usability and automation design domains. *Leverage user research and collaborate with product management teams to translate business and marketing goals into the best software solutions for our business. *Help develop, evolve, and maintain UI standards and guidelines. *Evaluate and recommend new tools and methods to support the work of the User Experience Design Team. *Clearly communicate and convey design concepts, presentations and written deliverables, both verbally and written.
