The Senior Front End Developer will be responsible for:
Helping develop, maintain and govern IT GUI standards for ISD applications
Supporting projects with special/complex GUI implementation needs
Researching new products, tools and functionalities related to GUIs and front-end implementation
Working directly with our designers, back-end developers and product team to continuously improve our web and mobile apps
Proactively optimizing code to ensure stability, high performance and adherence to standards
Writing modular, secure, and well-tested code
Ensuring the written software is universally high quality.
Supporting your fellow developers through mentorship, feedback, code reviews, and advancement of internal tools and processes.
In order to qualify you should have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering or related field with minimum 8 years of experience.
Expertise in implementing responsive graphical user interfaces that adhere to visual and behavioral specifications
Be an expert in modern frontend implementation strategies
Ability to assess and make strategic recommendations regarding usage of front-end tools, frameworks, plug-ins, JS libraries, etc.
Understanding/appreciation of UI design and usability
Experience creating reusable UI components with one or more standard frameworks, such as JQuery Widgets, React Components, or Angular Components
Experience with development tool sets, integration and deployment tools, and testing automation tools
Experience in implementing interfaces that meet W3C compliance standards
Experience in both generating style guides, and implementing standard themes (JRoller, etc.) that comply with such a guide
Familiarity with server-side front end frameworks such as Spring MVC, Struts (1.x or 2.x), GWT, JSF
Proven experience with automated Test Driven Development practices
Experience using design patterns and following best software engineering practices
Knowledge of security standards and best practices such as OWASP Top 10, SANS 25.
Understand architecture and modeling and able to actively participate in it
Demonstrate a desire for continual self-improvement through learning & development
Ability to document design and implementation details
Be a strong team player, have excellent communication & collaborative working skills
Knowledge of accessibility best practices and a drive to build user focused interfaces
Experience in the health-care industry is a plus
Experience in Agile development methodologies, preferably both Scrum and Kanban
Experience coding native mobile applications a plus, but not required
Experience with Java, .NET, ColdFusion or other programming language a plus, but not required
