The Biomedical Optics Laboratory (http://bol.egr.uh.edu) in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Houston, TX invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the area of biomedical optical imaging, photoacoustics, and biomechanics. Extensive experience in one of the following areas is required: optical coherence tomography (OCT), opto(photo)acoustics, light-sheet microscopy (instrumentation and software development), optical elastography/biomechanics, and Brillouin Spectroscopy. The successful applicants will join a dynamic team to work on projects such as optical methods to study tissue (ocular, skin, heart) biomechanics and development of advanced optical methods for developmental biology. Excellent opportunities exist for collaboration with clinicians from Texas Medical Center. The ideal candidate will have experimental skills in optics and/or biophotonics complemented by a strong knowledge of software development.
Development and maintenance of advanced optical imaging systems (such as OCT, optical projection tomography, photoacoustics, Brillouin microscope, and multi-photon light-sheet microscope).
Provides high-level troubleshooting support to the hardware development team.
Developing software to assist the team in the evaluation of newer sub-systems and components.
