Position Summary: This employee is responsible for coordinating and managing the university's telecommunications moves, adds, and change processes; acting as liaison between the telephone operating companies and the interconnect companies in matters dealing with the university's telecommunications needs, and providing technical expertise to assist in efficient and effective network telecommunications. This is a Manhattan-based position but is responsible for telecommunications activities on all campuses and including the high schools.
Coordinating all moves, adds, and changes required
Coordinating repair services as needed
Reviewing, ascertaining accuracy, and recommending payment of invoices submitted by the interconnect companies for services rendered
Managing and coordinating assigned telecommunications activities within the university
Recommending improvements to enhance technical capabilities of the system and reduce operating costs
Developing, maintaining and managing a preventative maintenance program for all university owned telephone systems
Developing, maintaining and managing a formal system of evaluating all telephone systems and materials used to maintain them
Maintaining records and preparing required reports relevant to the operations of telecommunications
