Under the guidance and supervision of the Executive Director, Strategic Partnerships, this position will have two primary components:
1 - Assist in the management of multifaceted alliances with our corporate partners in engineering and the physical sciences. Existing alliances:
Source new research projects for our alliance partners
Support and track progress on those projects that have been selected
Assist in the governance and day-to-day management of alliances
Oversee management of Visiting Fellows
Development of new alliances:
Identify potential alliance partners, based on secondary research
Identify relevant faculty and research projects that align with the interests of potential partners
2 - Assist in a wide range of activities that support Harvard's mission of commercializing technologies arising from our labs. These activities will also focus on technologies in engineering and the physical sciences.
Evaluate technologies and core technical competencies within the context of industry needs and market applications
Conduct primary and secondary research to find potential applications and identify suitable licensees
Assist in managing a portfolio of time sensitive projects related to technology commercialization
Work closely with OTD's Technology Transactions team in the general execution of agreements, including options, confidentiality, and inter-institutional agreements, industry sponsored research, non-exclusive licenses, and collaboration agreements
PLEASE NOTE: This is a 3-year term appointment.
During the current period of Covid-19 related restrictions, this position may start as a remote position, with transition to onsite in Cambridge when the office reopens.

Candidates MUST meet the following basic qualifications in order to be considered for this role:
BA/BS degree in relevant fields of Physical Sciences required (Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science), plus one to two years scientific training and/or industry or tech transfer experience.
Advanced degree in Physical Sciences preferred, or BA/BS with an MBA; must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously; ability to select, set and meet appropriate goals from among competing demands and work independently within a team environment. Demonstrated analytical skills and creative problem-solver.
