The Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) position or a Lecturer (non-tenure-track, full-time, continuing) position in Electrical Engineering, beginning August 1, 2020. The successful candidate will teach Advanced Circuit Analysis, as well as other core electrical engineering courses (Motors and Actuators, Power Electronics) and courses in their area of specialization. We are interested in applicants with a wide array of research interests. Please review the following:
We are particularly interested in applicants in the area of robotics, automation, and process control areas
We will not consider those in areas that fall under computer engineering / computer science
We are interested in those who will advance initiatives in community-engaged or service learning, undergraduate research and other inquiry-based learning, and global and diversity learning.
Candidates will have opportunities to contribute to an interdisciplinary general education program and other interdisciplinary majors and minors.
PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field is required for the Assistant Professor position (tenure-track); ABDs within one year of degree completion will be considered.
M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field required for the Lecturer position (non-tenure-track).
Applicants must demonstrate a potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring.
For the tenure-track position, the applicant must be committed to scholarship that includes collaborative research with undergraduates.
