CREOL, The College of Optics and Photonics and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Central Florida, invites applications for a Postdoctoral position, subject to funding availability, in the fields of nonlinear dynamics and nonlinear information processing. Topics of interest may include information and data processing using nonlinear methodologies such as reservoir and neuromorphic computing, studying effects of environmental noise on information processing, weak signal amplification and identification, and information processing employing arrays of neural and other types of nonlinear oscillators.
PhD in the fields of Physics, Applied Mathematics and Engineering.
Experience with nonlinear systems and strong computational capabilities. Knowledge of laser dynamics such as semiconductor diode and fiber lasers, Josephson junction dynamics and experience in signal processing design and matched filters would be advantageous.
Our group collaborates with groups in CREOL, ECE and with groups outside of UCF. Ability and desire to work in a collaborative team environment would be an advantage.
For more senior applicants as well as for applicants with outstanding abilities and skills research scientist position could be considered.
