Laser Components Canada designs and manufactures pulsed-mode semiconductor laser diodes. The company has been in operation for 15 years and produces a line of well-established products serving a variety of markets.
The products we produce are gaining acceptance in a number of growing markets such as LIDAR and safety scanners. Consequently, we are experiencing a period of accelerated growth. To help support this growth we are currently seeking an engineer or scientist to join our engineering and technology development department. This opportunity will be attractive to individuals looking for a challenging position in a technology based environment who have at least 5 years’ experience working with Optoelectronics packaging. This is a high profile position which includes a high level of responsibility.
Main responsibilities include:
Provide semiconductor laser packaging expertise within an engineering team environment
Participate in various product development projects
Maintain documentation within an ISO environment
Create documents and produce reports
5 years’ experience in Optoelectronics packaging
University degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or Material Sciences with appropriate emphasis on Optoelectronics packaging
Knowledge of SMD production tools
Experience in assembly process development
Knowledge in optics would be a definite asset
Spoken and written English is essential, French would be a definite asset
Willing to work in a dynamic, flexible and evolving environment
