Responsible for evaluating existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the production process. This position will be involved in all process engineering aspects for the Company. Must have the ability to establish personable and professional interaction and motivation with all levels of the organization.
Designs and develops processes, tooling and equipment for R&D, Prototypes and Production.
Provides costing for quotes to Sales.
Evaluates, researches, and develops new/alternate materials, process methods, equipment and technologies.
Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers.
Develops, implements, documents and trains processes, procedures, and methodology to improve efficiencies and quality of products produced.
Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to achieve the optimal solutions.
Collect, record, and transcribe data.
Show results in reports.
Develops, implements, documents and trains systems that optimize all phases of production process.
Perform Root Cause Analysis and Implement Corrective and Preventative Actions.
Collaborates with Production, Quality, and Finance to define expected operational success criteria and operational costs for proposed projects. Ensure projects are completed on time. Ensure financial budgets are followed.
Verifies performance of new equipment and process installations.
Leads resolution of vendor technical performance issues with new equipment or processes.
Provides design and operational oversight for utility systems and critical production and utility equipment.
Initiates, plans, and leads capital and non-capital equipment projects to ensure timely and cost-effective achievement of project objectives. Manages small to mid-sized capital improvement projects.
Reviews, revises and updates existing procedures and work instructions; documenting, implementing and training others on the changes.
Responsible to implement, promote, review, and continually improve the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in an optical field is preferred.
Previous experience in precision optical manufacturing with a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in process engineering.
Working knowledge of industry standards with a strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing techniques.
Previous work experiences with an ERP system.
Highly organized, accurate and detail oriented.
General mechanical, assembly, and trouble-shooting aptitude
Team oriented with strong interpersonal and strong communication skills.
Ability to prioritize daily tasks and projects to meet company needs and deadlines.
Proficiency in the use of personal computers including MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
