This position is responsible for overseeing the quality management system and coordinating the activities required to meet quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -
Serve as the ISO 9001 Management Representative. Lead all ISO activities and act as the point of contact for all internal and external audits. Implement procedures and quality systems that meet or exceed the requirements of ISO certification.
Provide assistance to all functional areas in the company relative to ISO compliance and proper operation of quality systems. Coordinate continued certification to Quality Programs.
Work closely with customers’ quality representatives to meet the contract requirements as well as internal requirements for quality, inspection, and certification.
In charge of incoming inspection of materials, in-process inspections, final inspections, and paperwork.
Update and maintain Quality System, reporting any necessary changes to Management.
Work closely with Production Managers to ensure that tracking systems to measure scrap rate and rework rate (yield) and inspection files are established and maintained.
Coordinate the investigation of any out-of-specification results and non-conforming material reports to determine root of cause and create an action plan.
Initiate projects and programs that promote continuous improvement in quality and productivity.
Quality training of all employees, including proper root cause and corrective action procedures and best quality practices.
Certification of the overall quality of products produced.
Perform inspection and analysis to determine facility compliance to standards and policies.
Promote quality achievement and performance throughout the organization.
Review all First Article Inspection Reports.
Serve as the ProQuis System Administrator, conduct troubleshooting as necessary.
Write technical and management systems reports and conduct management reviews.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
3- 5 years of QA work experience with prior work experience in the Optics field.
Thorough working knowledge of ISO 9001 2008 standard.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point. Database software administration preferred.
Prior experience creating operational plans, policies, and work instructions.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence internally and externally. Strong leadership skills and willingness to lead by example.
