Software engineer is a key member of engineering department for product development. Software engineer work under engineering management direction, applying their skills and expertise to develop software programs of a complex nature, including operating systems, applications and/or network products for optical/electrical instruments. Develop project plans, functional specifications and schedules for these products. Design and perform analysis on complex programs and systems. Assist in determining product requirements, technical specifications, and enhancements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs software program plan, development according to product development requirement
Performs software verification and validation
Develops test software to support optical/electrical engineers' test requirement.
Work with other engineers, systems analysts, programmers, technicians, and top-level managers in the architecture and design of the software system
Support manufacturing department to develop test and calibration software
Write procedures, methods, workflow documents and standard operating procedures for software program
Ability to exercise “attention to detail” and follow oral and written instructions
Provides technical support for sales and other departments
Promotes company's mission and values.
Supports the General Photonics' Quality Management System
Supports good health and safety practices
Supports other departments as required
Other duties as assigned by Management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Requires a masters’ degree in electrical engineering, or related engineering discipline with experiences in an applicable field.
Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or electrical engineering a related technical field or the equivalent experience is required.
Must be experienced using word-processing, presentation, and spreadsheets.
Experience w/ Linux and Windows
Software design with C#, C/C++, Labview, Visual C++, etc
English language proficiency, both oral and written, is required.
