Manage Assembly Dept, including but not limited to: reviewing prints, creating/maintaining work instructions, creating assembly set-ups and tooling designs, scheduling and assembling optical components, cementing, environmental testing, stamping, painting, and troubleshooting quality and manufacturing issues
Master the interpretation of required Mil-Specs and ensure its proper application to products being produced
Support Inspection Dept by providing assistance on inspection process and final judgments for inspection issues or problems
Train assembly technicians and quality inspectors
Provide guidance on process materials to use on certain glass types
Assist internal and external customers with troubleshooting design, manufacturing and metrology problems throughout the production process
Work with the Sales Dept in reviewing job bids for manufacturability
Work in conjunction with the Production Control Coordinator to complete quotations
Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering (physics, applied physics, mechanical engineering, optical engineering), or equivalent relevant experience in optics manufacturing, as deemed by PFG Management
Hands-on engineering experience on the production floor gained through work or internships (i.e. fabrication, troubleshooting, problem solving, machine operation and programming, working with and training technicians, etc.)
