AEgis Technologies is seeking a highly qualified Research Scientist supporting the nano-optics research and development group. The Research Scientist will be responsible for experimental laser testing and characterization of nonlinear metamaterials and plasmonic devices for military and commercial applications. The candidate should have extensive experience with ultrafast (femtosecond) lasers, OPO, OPA, experimental optical setup, measurements and characterization. Experience in electromagnetic modeling of nonlinear nanophotonic optical materials is a plus. We expect the candidate to eventually develop his/her own strategic research agenda and progressively become the group’s technical lead for experimental nonlinear optics. Candidates should have a strong fundamental background in nanophotonics and a desire to develop and commercialize new technologies. The Research Scientist will work collaboratively as a member of a research team in a dynamic work environment and must possess strong interpersonal skills to coordinate/collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
