We are now looking to hire an NPI Development Engineer to join our Product Development Team. In this role you will be involved in all product development stages with a focus on new product introduction into volume production. You will work closely with other engineers and operations team to ensure products introduced to production meet the requirements in terms of production readiness, cost targets and performance.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
Transitioning prototype products into volume production, with a focus on:
Defining product specification and manufacturing process flow.
Design-for-manufacture to reduce product cost and improve manufacturability.
Developing inspection plans for product validation.
Defining process capability requirements and metrology requirements for the products.
Driving yield improvement through data analysis and reporting to other engineers.
Promoting production readiness requirements into earlier product development phases.
This is a fast-paced role in a growing early-stage company and whilst indicative of expectations, the above list is not exhaustive. As a member of our multi-skilled team you will have the opportunity to be involved in a broader range of activities than those described above.
Required skills and experience

To enable success in this fast paced environment we are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following:
Numerical and statistical data analysis (Matlab/Python, JMP/R).
Practical knowledge on statistical process control (SPC).
This is a pivoting role in a fast-paced environment, where you will have the opportunity to work with the multi-skilled team in resolving technical challenges and improving processes supporting company’s growth.
A working knowledge of optical design and laser beams characteristics would be a benefit.
Strong understanding of optical specifications would be a benefit.
Experience in optics or semiconductor manufacturing environment would be a distinct advantage.
