This position will inspect precision optical lenses for all types of equipment as well as other optical components to ensure standards have been met using measuring and testing equipment to record and manage test data process in compliance with quality control procedures.
Conduct quality audits to verify inspection processes are being carried out and to train opticians regarding this topic on a continuous basis
Contact team members and team leaders when discrepant material is identified
Read and interpret blueprints, specification sheets, standards and customer data
Inspect optical parts for surface defects such as pits, scratches, unpolished areas, bubbles, and chips, in accordance to industry requirements
Measure and record lens dimensions, such as thickness, radius of curvature and surface figure/roughness on in-process inspection data sheets
Verify all data is present and correct on in-process inspection data sheets according to customer requirements
Ability to learn operation and maintenance of Interferometers, Surface Profilometer Willingness to train other staff on the use of measurement equipment Prioritize workload according to the department’s tight schedule Competent with Microsoft applications to document, interpret and record results Able to assess complex issues and develop and implement appropriate solutions
