Tier II process support for Manufacturing micro optics
Drive design for manufacturability in new product development
Ensure product integrity by recommending approval of engineering changes in process design and change. Ensure plant bills of materials and routings are consistent with the master design documents. Assisting manufacturing and engineering personnel with any issues pertaining to the manufacturing process
- Alignment station design and construction – micron tolerance
- Laser-based active alignment measurement
- Metrology, characterization of optical flats, wedges, prisms, WDM filters
- Operation of deposition chambers
- Epoxy application and diagnostics of front-line issues
- Lead or participate in projects for cost reduction, process improvements to address quality and yield issues, or reduce production cycle times
- Author process improvement qualification plans. Complete technical reports for internal publication
Participate in new product development projects as the Manufacturing representative, focusing on “Design for Manufacturability”. Use Stage Gate defined and DMAIC processes as appropriate.
Ensure quality issues caused by process issues or product performance are addressed through improvement projects and design change. Product Quality Architecture should be updated as necessary.
Identify gaps in manufacturing capabilities and make recommendations to improve. Support those improvements. Included in this are programs in TPM and LEAN implementation.
Visibly support the establishment and maintenance of a safe work environment.
