Business Unit: The Wafer Inspection Division (WIN) of KLA-Tencor designs and manufactures systems that are used for capturing yield-impacting defects at the front-end-of-line (FEOL) and the back-end-of-line (BEOL). A successful candidate will be joining a world leader in wafer inspection products and technologies designing and manufacturing the next generation of products. The Wafer Inspection Division (WIN) is seeking an Optical Engineer in our Milpitas, California campus.
Responsibilities: Within this role, the selected Optical Engineer will; Own critical sub-assemblies and be the key technical member in optical engineering group. Design precision optical systems and define optics specification and requirements. Develop experiments to investigate new optical design concepts and optical components for future products. Interact with vendors to qualify optical assemblies. Help solving critical production issues related to optical systems. Provide optical analysis support to help solving optical system issues and improve overall equipment performance
Preferred Qualifications: MS in optics with 8 plus years relevant experience focusing on optical engineering. Strong background in designing optical imaging and optical system. Past experience with complicated DUV optics system is a plus. Proficient with Zemax/Code V optical design software and stray ray analysis software. Hands-on experience aligning optical systems. Working knowledge of opto-mechanical systems Excellent communication skills and ability to work in within a dynamic team environment. Ability to carry out a project from design phase to production.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 5 years of experience. OR Master's Level Degree with at least 4 years of experience. OR Doctorate (Academic) with at least 2 years of experience.
