Optimax manufactures prototype optical components for a wide variety of applications and has the capacity to support production requirements. Our strongest market segments for prototype optics are aerospace, display technologies and solar applications. Our strongest markets for OEM production optics are semiconductor, military and medical instruments.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated background in a fast paced customer service driven environment (Food Service, Retail or similar) and will enjoy multitasking as well as hands on tasks. An Incoming inspector assumes the responsibilities of receiving and in-process quality inspection of precision optical lenses and other optical components. The employee will routinely use state of the art equipment to ensure customer specifications are adhered to.
This role will provide opportunities to mentor peers and facilitate the improvement of visual inspection skills and techniques shop wide. Advancement through Quality Assurance Department can be obtained with demonstrated leadership through increasing responsibilities and proven effectiveness.
Tasks: *Perform visual inspection of optical components *Utilize state of the art equipment to perform dimensional verifications *Maintain and update various internal databases with results of inspections *Perform wrapping and packaging of small (<10mm) to large (<200mm) optics *Blue print interpretation *Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment *Ability to work independently and as part of a team interacting with multiple departments *Ability to handle repetitive tasks while maintaining consistency, accuracy and efficiency *Generate and store quality documents such as inspection reports, interferograms, certifications of material and workmanship, customer-supplied surveys/documentation, etc. *Ability to assess complex issues and develop and implement appropriate solutions *May occasionally provide support to other departments such as, Coating, Final Inspection, Metrology lab, and Shipping/Receiving *Maintains scheduled activities and work hours set by Team Leader *Occasional Saturday/Sunday coverage may be required
*High school diploma or GED *Availability to work off-shift is a must *Good hand/eye coordination or manual dexterity similar to those skills utilized in artistic, creative or musical activities *Basic math skills to include: decimals, unit conversions (standard/metric) *Ability to multi-task *Demonstrated ability to perform simple thorough moderately complex hands on tasks *Excellent computer skills, including familiarity and use of Microsoft Office applications *Ability to collect and interpret data
Ideal Skillsets: *Associates degree or program certificate *Prior experience inspecting or handling optics a plus *Understanding of both MIL-PRF-13830 and ISO 10110-7 standards *A highly developed set of communication, interpersonal and leadership skills *Prior experience with Interferometers *Experience with Epicor or equivalent MRP software
