| The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Colgate University invites applications for a teaching & research postdoctoral fellowship beginning fall semester 2014. Completion of Ph.D. is expected prior to the date of hire. The fellowship is intended for a recent Ph.D. recipient interested in teaching and doing research in the area of experimental atomic, optical or laser physics at a liberal arts college. This is a full-time, two-year position with duties divided between teaching (1.5 course equivalents per semester) and research during the academic year, and full-time research during the summer months. The teaching component will include teaching physics at the introductory level, with a possibility of upper-level courses, and teaching a course in our liberal arts scientific perspectives curriculum aimed at a general student population. Research will be conducted in association with the experimental quantum optics program of Prof. Enrique Galvez.
