| This position will be responsible for new business development for our Optical Components Group at Zygo, primarily supporting Zygo Precision Optics (PO) and Extreme Precision Optics (EPO) businesses located in Middlefield, CT and Richmond, CA respectively. |
Exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to grow in an evolving, entrepreneurial sales environment with the revenue and support of the well recognized Zygo brand. Position reports to the Executive Director of Business Development, Optical Systems Division.
•Drive top and bottom line growth by initiating and developing new OEM/OEM type customer relationships for ZYGO’s core optical component products and capabilities.
•Spider within existing large OEM/OEM type customers by collaborating with existing ZYGO metrology sales channels.
•Working with ZYGO’s technical and quoting teams, develop detailed proposals in support of winning new business and maintaining existing business.
•Maintain complete technical knowledge of company products and services.
•Develop customer and region goals and account specific penetration strategies.
•Provide accurate weekly bookings and revenue forecasts.
•Conduct on-site technical presentations and product demonstrations.
•Give weekly updates on key new business initiatives and provide competitive landscape information to Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
•Attend trade shows and appropriate industry meetings while coordinating and supporting Zygo Optical Component presence at Zygo exhibitions for key trade shows.
•Coordinate and support Optical Components marketing initiatives.
•BS in Engineering or Physics. MBA a plus.
•Minimum five years technical OEM sales experience or equivalent Product Management/Marketing experience. Ten years preferred.
•Experience in selling optics, opto-mechanical and electro-optical systems, laser beam delivery systems, or OEM equipment that incorporates those technologies needed.
•Experience in selling optics to leading semiconductor OEMs and/or Defense Primes a significant plus.
•Key Account Management experience a plus.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Must be a motivated, self starter, with ability to work with limited supervision. Position based in Middlefield, CT or Richmond, CA a plus but not required.
•Willing to travel 50% of the time.
