Reports To: Director of Quality Assurance & Continual Improvement
Chroma is seeking a highly organized and motivated team-builder to fill the role of Quality Engineer focused on ISO 9001:2015 implementation, supplier development, and ensuring a company-wide commitment to quality. This person will support the Quality department’s responsibility to establish, implement, maintain and continually improve the quality management system (QMS), all products, and processes company-wide.
Work with current efforts to bring the Company’s Quality Management System and policies into compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 international standard
Work with materials management to establish, implement and audit quality requirements for external suppliers
Support Internal process and product audit activities
Perform 1st article inspection and coordinate external testing in accordance with SAE AS9102
Ensure the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers’ specifications
Perform data analyses, manage projects, and facilitate root cause investigations to drive improvement for internal processes
Prepare and report monthly metrics for the quality department
Perform MSA analysis, take appropriate measures, and report results

Minimum of an Associate’s degree + ASQ Certification, and/or Six Sigma Green/Black belt certification OR Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Mechanical Engineering, and/or Industrial Engineering; and/or suitable work experience
In-depth knowledge and experience with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System
Experience with implementation and facilitating corrective actions (8D)
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Statistical Software
Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA
Proficient with various metrology equipment including but not limited to: Optical Measurement systems, Micrometers, and Calipers
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Tenacious commitment to continuous improvement
A proven track record of leading process improvements in a manufacturing environment
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, listening, teaching, technical writing)
Strong problem solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis of data
Self-directed and detail oriented with ability to multi-task
Able to effectively collaborate with individuals throughout the organization
Working knowledge of APQP process (Process mapping, PFMEA, PPAP, Gage R&R, etc.) desirable
Product or industry-specific experience preferred
Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements (REACH/RoHS) preferred
Experience with Minitab software preferred
Experience with Lean Manufacturing preferred
