The Columbia Nano Initiative (CNI) at The Fu Foundation School of Engineering & Applied Science of Columbia University in the City of New York invites applications for an Associate Research Scientist position.
The Associate Research Scientist will ensure leadership in field of Electrical Engineering research specifically in the area of photonics. The primary responsibility will be to work on existing projects developing silicon photonic circuits and systems. The successful candidate will have expertise in photonic prototyping and the development of software and simulation tools for optical systems. Associate Research Scientists at Columbia SEAS are junior officers who have demonstrated innovation and excellence in research. Candidates are evaluated on research ability and required expertise.

Applicants must have a PhD degree in computer, communication and information sciences. At least 2 years of postdoctoral experience are required, as well as a strong publication record. Familiarity with photonics is necessary, along with experience in electrical engineering and communication systems.
