Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities
Driving new business and fostering new customers by cold calling, networking, executing innovative sales strategies, negotiating, and closing deals.
Maintaining positive customer relations; developing assigned territory to maximize sales potential and reputation, maintaining accurate customer records.
Managing multiple customer accounts within a geographically designated area.
Developing and maintaining product knowledge of existing and new product lines in laser fundamentals.
Develop positive working relationships with existing clients by anticipating needs and acting promptly to rectify any problems.
Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
Managing sales goals, providing regular reports on progress and client contact, implementing business development plans in accordance with company policy and maintaining expense controls.
Promptly completing administrative duties, including but not limited to: sales plans, sales reports, expense reports, daily call logs, new sales goals, product availability, and financial reports.
Actively and enthusiastically participating in team initiatives.
Participate in regular training sessions to understand new merchandise, industry meetings, and participate in trade shows.
Participate in weekly team and individual meetings and other sales-related meetings as required.
At least 3 years of sales experience, preferably in technical sales.
Prior experience with, and basic understanding of laser technology required.
Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable, well organized.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to ensure customer satisfaction.
Ability to negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Strong organizational skills and basic software competencies in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Enthusiasm for working in an organization where flexibility and teamwork are absolute necessities.
Valid driver’s license in state of employment. Ability to drive company vehicle with good driving record. Must be bondable by company insurance.
Travel required: 0-25%.
Bachelors in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
