This position is responsible for inspecting precision optical components and assemblies to customer and HOC drawings and specifications, ensuring proper documentation and data is collected and recorded. This position is primarily assigned to inspect COL parts but could also work in the Faceplate Inspection area. While in the Faceplate Inspection area, this position is supervised by the Faceplate Inspection Supervisor. Under the direction of the supervisor, this position will also administer effective training and on the job training to Inspectors as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -
Inspects optical components to supplier and customer specifications.
Complete documentation required for shipments as well as other documents as required or requested.
Ensure accurate production processes and that all quality standards are met.
Lead outgoing and/or incoming inspection.
Effectively provide management with detailed information on any quality issues that may arise.
Document production non-conformance's in accordance with prescribed procedure and processes as required. Ensure NCP is reviewed and disposition made.
Perform visual inspection of incoming, in-process and finished optical components.
Measure surface roughness and surface form of incoming, in-process and finished optical components.
Measure mechanical attributes of incoming, in-process and finished optical components.
Ensure all required inspection and shipment data and reports are accurate and complete.
Adequately package and label products for shipping and storage in finished goods inventory.
Notify management of any problems or issues and work with the Team to solve problems.
Assist Quality Manager in reviewing and updating department standards.
May be required to work in other production areas as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Previous work experience (5-7 years) in a lean manufacturing and/or optics environment preferred.
Previous work experience in inspection and quality control.
Highly organized, accurate, and excellent attention to detail.
Understand and apply optical surface quality inspection standards.
