Currently seeking an experienced Optical Engineer to design, model and establish optical systems for opto-electronic device module and subsystems. Responsibilities also include performance characterization and results analysis.
Characterize optical components (free-space and fiber based) for building laser systems – swept light sources, tunable lasers, etc.
Model beam propagation through optical systems using Zemax or similar software.
Design optical layouts for laser systems and beam delivery.
Couple near infrared light optical fibers through free-space technology.
Able to clearly document technical designs and results.
Additional duties and projects as assigned.
MS or PhD in Physics or Laser Technology with a minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial environment or equivalent in education and experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience in optical design using software such as Zemax.
Hands-on experience in the optical field with free-space optic fiber alignment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
