In this position you will work under general supervision in support of Zygo’s Laser Interferometer and 3D Profilometer product lines with responsibilities in worldwide product and applications support, new applications and customization of existing products to suit customer requirements.
You will interface with engineering, marketing, sales and management to ensure successful application of our instruments in a wide range of projects and industries.
Specific responsibilities include conducting in-house or on-site product demonstrations with the support of Zygo’s sales staff. You will also provide technical training and instruction to customers and potential customers in the use of our products that ensures their success with metrology challenges. You will assist customers in making optimal use of Zygo equipment through the design of test setups, software setup, and training for the specific application or custom solution. You will also troubleshoot existing customer application problems and follow up to ensure product or application problems have been resolved. In this exciting role, you will keep abreast of new industry developments, trends, techniques and applications in related industries. You will recommend to engineering and marketing for consideration ideas that appear to have sufficient market potential. In addition, you will follow in detail the status of established products, their market potential and standing, and competitors' activities. You will also assess performance of products from a user's point of view. Drawing on this knowledge, you will create collateral for both marketing and internal training on specific applications and metrology systems
BS Degree in a Technology related major (Optics, EE, ME, Physics, etc.) is required.
Familiarity with optical metrology instrument operation and application is a plus.
Programming skills desired, Python experience a plus.
Excellent customer interaction skills along with good written and oral communication skills.
Travel (approximately 30%) is required.
