The opto mechanical engineer is responsible for designing mechanical parts, components and packaging for lasers and controllers for our laser systems. Also plays lead role in transfer of designs to manufacturing operation. The candidate will be working with other engineers and scientists of IMRA laser development team. Requires US Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
Design and develop precision mechanical parts for optics for laser products
Responsible for mechanical component design
Responsible for mechanical package design
Responsible for controller package design to drive the laser
Leads mechanical design review activities
Leads transferring of mechanical design of parts and products to manufacturing
Responsible for engineering specs for all mechanical part used in product
Develops production assembly processes and jigs
Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
Requires precision mechanical design and materials knowledge
Advanced degree in engineering or science discipline
Proven track record in precision mechanics component and package design
Knowledge in mechanical process engineering
Proficient experiences in Autodesk Inventor
Proficient experiences in FEA analysis
Proficient experiences in mechanical tolerance analysis
Experienced knowledge in optics is plus
Hands-on capability in mechanical component test
5+ year of industrial precision mechanics design engineering experience
